Property Description
Dear Future Owners of 68 W Indian Lane: We want to share some of our favorite things about living here with you. We love being surrounded by the beautiful and constantly changing view of the river and all the wildlife that surrounds it. It's not uncommon to see blue herons, eagles, and many colorful songbirds. We typically enjoy our first cup of coffee from the bedroom deck and watch the sunrise reflecting off the water. Scullers often glide past the house at this time of day, and the soothing peaceful sounds of songbirds fill the air. Living here has motivated us to spend more time outside. We have a deep-water concrete dock, where we keep our boat. We've hosted some great parties where our guests have enjoyed water skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, or a boat ride. Everyone looks forward to our annual 4th of July party, where we'll spend the day on the water, then watch fireworks light up the sky over the river. On warm evenings, we'll take sunset rides along the river, watch movies outside on the deck, or just sit around the gas firepit with a glass of wine. We love to walk and bike along the Schuylkill River Trail, which runs directly in front of our house. This trail goes all the way to Center City, and to Phoenixville in the opposite direction. It also connects with Valley Forge National Park and the 19-mile Perkiomen Trail that goes all the way to Green Lane, so there are many options to keep things interesting. We have biked as far as Philadelphia in one direction and Spring Mountain in the other, where we have encountered herds of deer and occasionally a fox. If you enjoy golf, Westover Golf Club is 5 minutes away. We're particularly proud of some recent upgrades and renovations we've made. Our completely remodeled contemporary kitchen was featured in Houzz, a website that has design ideas for home renovations. We added Solar Innovation folding window walls in the kitchen and dining rooms to open our living space to the outdoors. We also installed luxury vinyl plank flooring on the first floor which looks great and holds up beautifully in the water-front environment. We custom-ordered our circular steel stair railing to blend with the contemporary style of the home and added LED lighting throughout the home. The vaulted ceilings, curved walls, circular staircase, and maintenance-free finishes are some of our favorite features. There's a propane-powered generator capable of powering the entire home, a new gas furnace for the first floor, a new heat pump for the 2nd floor, and a new furnace in the basement. And the location is great! It's like living in the country, but with the convenience of being close to major highways and stores. We hope you enjoy the waterfront lifestyle as much as we have!
